Rural School Transformation

What is the activity : Transformation of classrooms

Why is it being done: Students grades were coming down as they
dint have a proper classrooms to study and learn.
·
Whom is it aimed at: Government
school students
Objective: To provide
a clean and hygienic classrooms for the students by painting the government
school and transform 2 classrooms which wasn’t used since 2006 and make them
functional.
Activity Description:

Discuss flow of the activity –
The day started with a brief orientation to the volunteers to help them understand the objective of the activity, the do’s and the don’ts, the procedure to carry out the activity, and also handing over the required materials to execute the activity. The volunteers were split into four teams for different activity.
First team - Cleaned the entire doors, windows and walls of the
school.
Second team - Painted doors and windows
Third team - Painted classrooms
Forth team – Created teaching tools/aids
Activity : Painting classrooms
Volunteers were divided into smaller group and started to clean the School. Volunteers painted 5 classrooms, doors and windows of the entire school and took the responsibility of groups involved in the activity.
Once the painting was completed volunteers interacted with students and gave away the snacks. Each group took the tasks and ensured everything is done with perfection.

school.
· Outcomes/observations: The students will be benefitted in multiple ways, which include cleaner classrooms and leading to good recreational activities, Painting the classroom that will enable the school to have clean and neat environment. The teaching aids will also help the students to have a better learning experience.
